Friday morning means a new Project 52 post for you to feast your eyes on. Some of the members of the Beautiful Beasties Network (a professional pet photographers’ forum) are taking on the challenge of doing pet-related photography, with a theme that changes every week, for an entire year. The goal is to start shooting outside the box, to challenge ourselves as photographers and to expand our vision and talents. This post marks my first step into year two of this project, and I can’t wait to see what I learn about myself and about photography!
This week’s theme is family . . . as photographers we are most often behind the camera. The point this week was to be in front of the camera, so that our wonderful blog readers (yes, you!) can meet us along with our families.
Without further ado, please meet me (Kelly) and my family.
From left to right are Jack Jack (with the gnome tag), Gracie, myself and Farley in my lap.
Thanks go to my best friend Ange for taking the photo.
Jack Jack is 4 years old, a dog show champion here in Canada and one of my current Rally obedience dogs. He has a large repertoire of tricks and he loves having his photo taken. Gracie is 6 years old, and was the third Cocker Spaniel in Canada to earn the highest Rally obedience title possible. She is a working therapy dog and an accomplished counter surfer. Farley is 13 years old and his job is to be comfortable. He was my first show dog, my first obedience dog and my first Rally obedience dog. He holds my heart in his paw. He has his own Facebook page and a large following there. Me? I’m of an age (nobody needs to know what it is LOL) and I work full time as a cost and schedule specialist for a large company. In my spare time I do pet photography, publish a magazine about Cocker Spaniels (http://www.ouracn.com) and do volunteer work for a few doggy organizations. I’m a busy lady.
I hope you’ve enjoyed meeting my family and I. As this is a blog ring, please continue to Silivrenwolf Photography in Lake Stevens WA’s blog for more awesome photos . Once you’re done with Angela’s blog, keep clicking through the links at the end of each blog until you get back here, and you’ll have seen all of the Project 52 blog posts for this week.
