Music Choices

Lately I’ve been downloading some new music for my iPod. As my friends know, I have what could be called eclectic tastes. My friends will understand my most recent music choices, but others might not.

~ Britney Spears, “Circus” . . . not what anybody would call a mature or classic music choice. But the songs have a really catchy beat, and hey, I’ve never claimed to be mature! I especially like Womanizer and Circus.

~ Cirque de Soleil, “O” . . . what sounds like a blend of Bollywood and French, the music is haunting and mysterious. It also brings back incredible memories from my recent trip to Vegas. I have my best friend to thank for sharing the CD with me!

~ The soundtrack to “Slumdog Millionaire” . . . definitely very Bollywood, but also with underlying dance/techno tones. The Oscar nominated songs (Jai Ho and another one whose name I can’t remember) are really memorable and make me want to sing out loud.

~ Taylor Swift, “Fearless” . . . a really nice follow-up album to her debut album. More twangy country songs, but with her innocent, pretty voice. I do recommend it, but not if you don’t like country music. Even her nice voice, the twang could be TOO much for you.

What’s new on your iPod? Please recommend some catchy tunes to me!

  1. I’ve gotten into older folksy stuff lately so you probably aren’t interested in those tunes but take a look at the top 100 list on iTunes for some inspiration. Even if you don’t care for some of the tunes in the list they may remind you of similar ones that you do enjoy 🙂

  2. Some of my recent faves: Jonatha Brooke, Kim Erin, A Fine Frenzy, David Cook, and Kate Voegele. I think they’re all in iTunes so you can get samples of their music there. I also check out the iTunes free song of the week most weeks. Most of the time the song is pretty good, but a couple times I’ve then gone on a downloaded the rest of the album (not free) and the rest of the songs sucked so beware.Oh, and thanks for posting these recommendations. I’m also looking for some new music these days as I’m getting tired of some of my older stuff.

  3. I hate to admit it, but I love listening to Brittney while walking or cycling, the beat keeps me motivated. I also love Taylor Swift, and she writes most of her music! Very talented. I also love Katy Perry right now (new hit Thinking of You), And David Cook.I’m going to check out Cirque de Soleil, my daughter is into anything french right now, it sounds like something she will like
